Today as I rest in my home temple, in the silence of myself; I realize how fortunate we are as women to have our monthly cycle. Every red moon is an invitation for us to get quiet and process the month we have just lived.
Not only is it a time to cleanse and release, it is also our chance to just be and deeply nourish our feminine spirit. As our hormones settle and our blood begins to flow, we are able to be in that space that is free from doing. This gives us a huge opportunity for magic. Getting honest with ourselves as we slow down allows us to clear out the old and realign with our core being. It is a gift, my moon sisters. Let us embrace it with love.
Sitting here in paradise I realize I need nothing else as nature is a balsam for my soul. After being here for only two weeks my nervous system has relaxed. I am content to watch nature’s dance from my terrace.
The birds are happy today, chirping as they move from branch to branch. An eagle soars in the distance, standing out against the brilliant blue sky. The seven sister birds discuss over the sound of prayers from the mosque down the road. Ahhh… India, the mystical place where the essence of life becomes profoundly present.
Working together to bring out our inner light
Veda means eternal truth. It is something that is as applicable today as it was thousands of years ago, as is Ayurveda – the science of life or the art of being. Perhaps it is even more needed today than ever as what was once common sense has been forgotten. People are losing the simple knowledge of how to live in harmony with themselves and the world around them.
Things such as being in sync with the rhythms of the day and night, the moon cycle, the seasons and the all pervading presence of Mother Nature are absolutely vital to our own state of well-being .
I remember clearly my first yoga class, over 16 years ago and how it created a feeling of peace that I had rarely experienced before. I knew then I had discovered a jewel, something that would change my life forever. And it did.
After going as deep as possible in New York city, I journeyed to India. Yoga became much more than a practice, something that I was doing; it became a way of life, a way of being. Waking up to life's magnificence and my own inner light was just the beginning. Living there, I embodied more joy than ever and at the same time I faced more challenges than ever, urging me to grow. This purified and refined my personality, paving the way for the unfolding of a higher state of consciousness.
